The MTA certification was a job requirement. Not only was it mandatory for the job offer, it has helped me immensely on the job.
Absolutely I would recommend MTA certification! It is absolutely essential in IT with the current employment landscape. It helped me get a leg up on my competition and landed me the job.

Pittsburgh, United States Network Analyst in the Mobile Telecommunications Industry
My MTA certification has helped demonstrate to my superiors my ability to understand the whole picture regarding our network monitoring suite – I recently was sent to San Francisco to complete Tier I support-level training with our network monitoring software vendor and now am able to function as a local support contact for this software suite at our Pittsburgh corporate headquarters. I would recommend MTA- outside of work-related or assigned projects, a certification in a particular field, language, technology, etc. is the best method of showing one’s skill and worth to decision-makers.

Community College Student
My MTA has helped with my confidence in my skills and to not be afraid or limit my understanding or knowledge. I’m a 30 year old who enrolled back in community college to finish my CIS major after idle years. At first I felt overwhelmed but kept focusing and went on to pass the MTA Security Fundamentals exam. I look forward to taking the C++ MTA at the semesters end and propel my future.
I absolutely would recommend MTA because it’s a chance at greater knowledge. Technology is constantly evolving and the job market will continue to rise and why not take the journey with a proven source like Microsoft and take advantage of the many certifications that can help you get ahead.
IT Support Specialist
I have always being involved with computers but I never had the paperwork to prove it and the Armed Services don’t give diplomas. Now, at the young age of 54 and retired from the Service, I went back to college and am in the process of receiving what I always wanted. I am also in the process of setting up my own business in cloud based management for wholesale/retail outlets.
Why would I recommend MTA Certification? Because it was my first step on that ladder to prove my ability to succeed and to prove to others that you are never to old to start.

NOC Manager & System Administrator
The MTA certifications I have received helped me get a start on working in the IT field as a NOC technician diagnosing server issues for clients, this helped me realize I could progress enough to completely start administrating systems for entire businesses.
I would recommend and do currently recommend starting out with MTA certifications to all of the technicians I manage. This helps start building confidence and skill in any field of technology you are passionate about and trying to build a career in. I can definitely say the MTA certifications I received helped me build the foundation for where I am in my career now.

The MTA certifications I earned have been instrumental in moving forward in both my career and personal life. It helped me secure a systems administrator position within the company I am now employed by, and has helped me elevate the quality and standard of living for my entire family. This was my first step in the process and was the foundation for everything taking place now. Currently I hold a MCTS for Windows 7 and an MCSA for Server 2012.
Yes I would recommend MTA certifications. I feel that MTA is a better foundation than other certifications of the same level within the industry. I have even received buy in from my departments stakeholders concerning early certification paths for our entry level IT positions, and have encouraged our help desk staff members to obtain these entry level certifications.

While helping others get certified through the efforts of the Florida IT Server Group, I decided to explore the MTA exams myself. Working to certify in the Infrastructure track, I had to review technologies I haven’t (and don’t) touch at work. I also got to explore newer technologies in broad areas, again outside the framework of my job. Worth the effort.
With almost 20 years as an MCP and almost as many with the same company, you can get tunnel vision – focusing on the work. The MTA exams are not only a door opener for newbies to technology, they were an eye-opener for this veteran to revisit some old technologies I don’t handle every day and explore some new ones. Again, worth the effort.
